JP Nyiha is a personal coach who helps Kenyan women lose weight sustainably through personalised nutrition, training and coaching. He meets each client where they are and builds them a path to transform. This project became its own transformation story: I designed JP's first website early in my design journey, on WordPress. 2.5 years later, I rebuilt it from the ground up on Shopify. The side by side shows two kinds of growth: his business, and the way I design.
The approach
The goal: Redesign JP's website on Shopify, not just to look better, but to build trust faster, remove friction, and feed directly into how JP actually closes clients.
Moving off WordPress — The original site was buggy, and its plugins, updates, and hosting all depended on a previous developer's access. Rebuilding on Shopify gave JP a platform he actually owns - built-in reliability, faster load times, and the ability to make changes himself, without needing a developer every time.
Designing for trust — Collapsed a cluttered menu and moved trust signals up top, so a first-time visitor knows who they're dealing with before they even scroll. Migrated 100+ client testimonials and built a custom section with an easy-to-manage flow. Now future clients can leave written testimonials, and JP can upload visual before/after transformations, all with ease.
Feeding the sales process — Added a direct "Book a Call" button tied straight into JP's existing 15-minute sales call process, so a visitor doesn't just browse and leave, they take the next real step toward working with him.
The impact
🌐 Easier to use — JP's own words after launch: the new website is much better and easier to use than the last one.
📅 A direct line into his sales process — The Book a Call button plugs straight into JP's 15-minute sales call, and he's seen it meaningfully improve both conversion and the visitor's experience.
📊 Visibility he didn't have before — Being able to see real data on who's visiting the site has helped JP understand what's actually working.
🔓 A platform he actually owns — Moving off WordPress freed JP from depending on a previous developer's access just to keep the site running, and gave him room to grow.

Key Learnings
Same client, same brand, but every decision( the trust signals, the pricing section, the way information is broken up ) reflects how much sharper my own process has gotten.
This rebuild wasn't just an update for the client. It was proof of how far I've come since I first started.
